This August and September, Hugs for Homeless is inviting individuals, families, businesses, schools, churches, sports teams, and community organizations to join us in one shared goal:

Why Backpacks?

For someone experiencing homelessness, a backpack is much more than a bag. It becomes a place to safely carry the essentials they rely on every day. Each Hugs Backpack is carefully packed with practical items that help meet immediate needs while offering a reminder that someone in their community cares.

Depending on the season, backpacks may include:

• Warm socks

• Gloves

• A warm blanket

• Hygiene essentials

• Water bottle

• Seasonal items

• A handwritten Message of Hope

• and more!

Every backpack represents comfort, dignity, and compassion.

 

Include a Message of Hope

One of the most meaningful parts of every Hugs Backpack is the handwritten Message of Hope.

When you donate a backpack or sponsor one, you're invited to write a short note of encouragement.

A few kind words can remind someone that they are seen, valued, and not alone.

These messages are placed inside our backpacks and may also be featured on our website to inspire others.
